The theatre was opened by Kay Mellor and once again this proved to be another great event with our students centre stage. The dedication to John Sowerby with his family present was special and very moving. A few days after this Ashley Jackson and Graeme Ibbeson opened our Arts facilities. Both of these renowned Yorkshire artists left us with gifts of their work to commemorate their visits. There is little doubt that the school won some great and influential friends not to mention super coverage in the media. What I enjoyed the most was the fact that the school was full of people enjoying the surroundings and particularly enjoying the company of our students. Brilliant!!! Interestingly during the course of the last few weeks we invited into school advisors and consultants from the local authority to look at our classes and meet some of our students. They have been very impressed with the way our students performed and the very positive way they viewed their school. It does make me very proud of them all.
