Our first Enrichment Day is on the 13th October and for the first time we're hosting a careers fair here in school for years 7, 9 and 11. We're also hosting it until 4.30pm so parents are able to visit it after school hours if they wish; either to utilise it themselves, or to see what their children have been doing that day. |

I hope that your summer has been going well and that the indifferent weather has not interfered too much with your plans. School has been a busy place during the holiday. We have had a large proportion of the building redecorated with some areas being given new flooring and furniture. It is good to see that such regular maintenance is taking place. Keeping our school environment looking bright, clean and tidy makes such a difference to us all. By the time you read this the exam results for this year will be known. Our GCSE and A level results were good and I was very pleased that all of our Y13 students wishing to go to university have gained places – this despite the huge reduction in places reported in the media. I thought that you might find a reminder about the arrangements for the start of term useful.

As your son/daughter moves into Year 9 we are recommending a learning pathway to each student based on our judgement about what sort of courses would lead them to the greatest success at Key Stage 4. The different learning pathways are described in more detail below and further information will be available at the Y9 options events which will be held next year in January and February.
