Ralph Thoresby School continues to be a good school!
I am delighted to report that, following a successful Ofsted inspection on 16th October, ‘the school continues to be good’. This very positive judgement reflects our consistently strong performance over recent years and is a clear vote of confidence in the values, ethos and leadership of our wonderful school.
Inspectors rightly picked up on the fantastic atmosphere around school commenting, ‘This is a school where staff and pupils celebrate diversity and promote values of tolerance, mutual respect and care for others’. They also noted that ‘The school is a caring environment where pupils are polite and respectful’ and ‘relationships between staff and pupils are strong’.
The stable and aspirational environment at RTS creates a climate where all students can achieve. Ofsted observed that, ‘the working atmosphere in classrooms is positive’ and ‘pupils take pride in their learning’. Safeguarding emerged as a real strength as the report states, ‘pupils feel safe in school’. The Sixth Form was also praised, ‘The quality of provision for post-16 students remains good. Students make consistently good progress over time’.
Rest assured that we will not be complacent as we continue to strive for excellence in everything we do. With numbers increasing in the Sixth Form and in the main school (where we are now oversubscribed), the future looks increasingly bright for Ralph Thoresby School.
Thank you for your continued support.
